A great Safari door Zambia, Namibia Okay Botswana where culture, wildlife parks and nature are extensively covered. A visit will be made to the Victoria Falls.

In Botswana it becomes Chobe National Park which is mainly known for its large herds of elephants. Furthermore, a sunset cruise across the Chobe River and a 2-day mokoro excursion in the Okavango Delta.

To save water, 99% of the water used at the lodge is filtered and reused.

They also support the Kwame school and offer a six-month training course in hospitality to students graduating in this field, to give them a good start for their future after their studies.

Caprivi Mutoya Lodge is owner-run, with staff personally selected from the local community and well-trained to enhance their opportunities in hospitality.

Revenue from mokoro trips and visits to the local village is channelled back to the community. The lodge has sponsored a borehole for the village of Lisikile, ensuring access to fresh water.

The lodge also makes a monthly contribution to the local nursery school.

The lodge has its own vegetable and herb garden and recycles kitchen waste for compost. Nkwazi Lodge, located at 100%, is owned by a Namibian and the staff are local residents.

The owner of the lodge has set up a small school and offers 40 to 50 children 3 meals a day and education in preparation for the first year of primary school.

They also offer financial support to 40–50 primary and secondary school pupils and a number of university students.

The guided tours of the local village provide financial support to the local population.

The lodge also uses 25% of its electricity from solar energy, and 50% of the vegetables required by the lodge are grown on site. Tarentaal Guest Farm is 100% Namibian-owned, and all staff are local residents.

Tarentaal uses 100% of its electricity generated from solar energy and uses its own cows for meat.

The guest farm is planting “spekboom” plants on its premises, which absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Terra Africa guesthouse in Windhoek is 100% Namibian-owned and all staff are local residents. Glass and plastic are sorted on site for recycling, and the cleaning products used are all biodegradable.

Brandberg White Lady Lodge is 100% Namibian-owned and all the staff are from Namibia.

They generate 100% of their electricity from solar power and use groundwater to grow their own fruit and vegetables.

The lodge helps to reintroduce wild animals to the area and assists with anti-poaching programmes. Hotel A la Mer is 100% Namibian-owned and all staff are from the local community.

Plastic is recycled and hot water for showers and heating is generated using solar energy. Capbon guesthouse in Windhoek employs all staff from the local community.

The guesthouse minimises its carbon footprint by generating electricity from solar power, with the surplus being fed back into the electricity grid of Windhoek city. Island Safari Lodge is run by a Motswana owner who provides employment for 22 local Motswana employees.

It supports various conservation projects such as Rhino Conservation Botswana, Career Dreams Training Institute and the junior ranger programme.

The lodge recycles and advises its guests on saving water. Thebe River Safaris is run by local Motswana owners and provides employment for 89 Motswana staff.

The lodge grows its own vegetables and buys from local small-scale farmers. Although the lodge is located on the river, the camp asks guests to save water wherever possible and uses LED lighting throughout the camp to save energy.

Our comfort safaris are run in small groups to offer the most flexible and best possible itinerary.

Small groups mean more time for the traveller, shorter waiting times and a cosy, personal atmosphere during the trip.

The average age on this tour is 38-45, but ages range from 20 to 60+ years.

The minimum age for children is 12 years old, provided they are accompanied by at least one adult. There is no age limit, but travellers aged 65 and over are required to provide a medical “fitness to travel” certificate, which can be obtained from your GP.

Language
As the participants on the above trip come from different countries, English will be spoken by the guide during the trip (with the exception of departure dates marked with a *, during which German will be spoken primarily).

Visa
If you are in possession of a Dutch passport, you require a valid passport for travel to Botswana and Zambia which is valid for at least 6 months at the moment of arrival in the country. For a stay shorter than 90 days, you do not require a visa for Botswana and Zambia.

For Namibia, from 1 April 2025, you will need a visa and a passport that is valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in the country.

You can apply for the Namibian visa online on the Namibian government's website (information in English). https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na/holidayvisa-services.

Ensure there are also sufficient blank pages in the passport for the necessary stamps. If you hold a nationality other than Dutch, please contact the Consulate of the country concerned. AfrikaOnline does not arrange visas.

If you are travelling to Zambia or Namibia with children under 18 years of age, you may need to be in possession of a copy of the International Birth Certificate.

Transport
Transport during the trip is by a special overland safari truck with 10/12 seats or, approximately 5% from all departure points, a safari minibus (air-conditioned Mercedes Sprinter), whilst transfers in the Okavango are carried out in open 4×4 safari vehicles with a local guide.

Comfortable travel and excellent for game drives. Large sliding windows so everyone has a good view.

Taking out travel insurance is mandatory. It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance.

Participation
From 12 years old, no maximum age. However, at least 1 adult must accompany every child under 18.

During the trip, walks will be made that require a certain level of stamina.

The walks are graded as easy to moderate and are always optional.

On all group safaris, a certain amount of participation is expected in setting up camp, setting the table, and of course, helping with the washing up.

Teamspirit is part of the fun of travelling in a group.

Overnight stays
Chalets, lodges, hotels and guest farms 18 nights in small-scale lodges, guesthouses and permanently tented camps with en-suite bathrooms and usually facilities such as a swimming pool, restaurant and bar

Wild camping: 2 nights (in the Okavango Delta) will be spent “wild” camping. This means you will be able to stay in spectacular locations without any facilities.

Everything that is needed is being taken. The camping equipment; spacious and comfortable igloo tent of 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.5 metres that is easy to set up/take down.

The tents have “built-in” mosquito nets. Additionally, there are approximately 5cm thick mattresses and comfortable camping chairs with backrests. Sleeping bags and pillows will be provided.

During camping, your help will be requested with setting up camp, preparing meals, and washing up.

Meals:
During the trip, good and healthy meals are prepared using mostly local produce.

To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and a regular English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.

The lunch will mainly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (rolls) (picnic style).

The dinner will be the most extensive with regular BBQ, stir-fry dishes and the typical South African Potjiekos (all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.

If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.

Coffee and tea will also be served during dinner. Other drinks are not included and must be purchased separately.

During this trip, 20 breakfasts, 17 lunches and 11 dinners are included in the travel sum. 9 breakfasts at the lodges, the other meals will be prepared by the guides at the truck.

Medical conditions:
Anyone in good health may participate in this trip.

Luggage
Travel bag (due to limited car space, it is best to pack luggage in a travel bag or backpack) with a maximum of 12 kg per person.

Additionally, take a small rucksack or bag for personal items to keep in the car. A hard suitcase cannot be taken.

Reservations
The agent reserves the right to amend a programme if the agent deems it necessary due to certain conditions, force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.

Should the vehicle break down, the agent will not be responsible for alternative accommodation other than camping, and there will be no compensation for flights or similar.

Agent requests a compensation form to be signed prior to departure for the trip.
