A visit is being made to the Kruger National Park, of Zimbabwe Ruins been Great Zimbabwe, and game drives in the Matobo National Park and of course a visit to the Victoria waterfalls.

In Botswana become a Sunset cruise made on the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park, which is especially known for its large herds of elephants.

Further a 2-day Mokoro excursion in the Okavango Delta and a visit to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, where a game drive is taken in search of the endangered rhinoceros.

Programme

Day 1: Johannesburg - Kruger Park

Depart from Johannesburg at 06h30 in the morning and drive in a north-easterly direction to the northern part of the famous Kruger National Park.

In the afternoon, a game drive through Kruger National Park.

Overnight stay at Letaba Rest Camp in Kruger Park. (chalet)

Day 2: Kruger National Park

Full day in Kruger National Park to the remote and less visited northern part of Kruger from Letaba rest camp to Pafuri Gate.

During the game drives, there will naturally be a search for the animals found here, such as the lion, elephant, giraffe, rhino, cheetah, leopard, many antelope species and zebras.

Day 3: Kruger National Park - Great Zimbabwe

We leave South Africa via the Beitbridge border post.

After crossing the border (which is an interesting excursion in itself), the journey continues to Masvingo and the Great Zimbabwe Ruins.

Great Zimbabwe was once the capital of an empire that may have stretched over what is now Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The ruined city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The city dates from the period between c. 400–1450 AD, and in its heyday may have housed around 18,000 inhabitants, though other sources estimate 10,000.

The ruins are spread over a large area and are mainly concentrated in three centres: the hill complex, the valley complex, and the famous Great Enclosure.

In the afternoon, a walking tour through the ruin complex with a guide, during which you will be introduced to this mysterious culture.

Day 4: Great Zimbabwe - Matobo National Park

After breakfast, depart Great Zimbabwe and drive to Matobo Hills National Park, just south of the town of Bulawayo.

Arrival in the afternoon and sundowner with a view of the park.

Day 5: Matobo National Park

In Matobo National Park, you will visit the granite kopjes and wooded valleys.

A visit is made to “World's View” and the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, who is buried in the Matobo Hills.

In the afternoon, a walk is planned to the San Bushman rock engravings.

The unusual rock formations in this area are also the habitat of rhinos.

During the guided walk in the park, we hope to spot the white rhinos. The sable antelope and Africa's largest concentration of leopards can also be found in this park.

Day 6: Matobo National Park - Hwange National Park

After breakfast, depart in a northerly direction towards Hwange National Park.

Hwange National Park is the largest game park in Zimbabwe and is named after a local Nhanzwa chief.

Hwange Park is approximately 14,650 square kilometres in size and is located in the northwest of the country.

Hwange is famous for its large elephant population.

Day 7: Hwange National Park

Full day in the park taking game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle with a local guide.

Drive north towards the famous Victoria Falls.

Day 9: Victoria Falls

A day at leisure in Victoria Falls where numerous activities can be undertaken such as white water rafting, bungee jumping,

Elephant-back safaris, scenic flights over the waterfalls, sunset cruises over the Zambezi River.

Day 10: Victoria Falls - Chobe National Park

Depart Victoria Falls and cross the border into Botswana towards the town of Kasane, which borders Chobe National Park.

The Chobe River flows along the northern border of Chobe National Park, attracting huge numbers of animals.

One highlight is taking a “sundowner” cruise on the Chobe River.

You will see animals enjoying the vegetation on the banks, and there's a good chance of spotting elephants crossing to enjoy the juicy grass on one of the islands in the Chobe River.

In the afternoon, a sundowner cruise on the Chobe River (an excellent time to take photos of the animals along the riverbanks, as they do not perceive the boats as a threat, allowing the boats to get very close).

Day 11: Chobe National Park - Nata

This morning, an early start for a morning game drive in an open 4x4 safari vehicle through Chobe Park.

After breakfast, depart from Kasane and drive south through the Kasane Forest to the village of Nata.

In the afternoon, a visit to the Nata Bird Sanctuary for sunset and views of the vast Makgadikgadi Pans, where flamingos, pelicans, and herds of elephants can be seen during the summer.

Day 12: Nata - Maun - Okavango Delta

Depart on time from Nata and drive to the town of Maun, where some quick shopping is done for the coming days.

Afterwards, depart from Maun under the guidance of local guides in typical mokoros (hollowed-out log canoes).

En route, we will look for wild animals, go for walks, and swim in the clear waters of the Delta.

Camping takes place on the banks of the Delta and on remote islets in the Delta.

The local guides will introduce you to their culture and way of life.

An overnight stay in a beautiful spot in the Delta, so-called “wild camping”.

Day 13: Okavango Delta

Day 15: Maun - Goo Moremi

Depart from Maun and drive in a southeasterly direction through the vast open plains of the Kalahari Desert,

On the way, small villages and small herds of zebras.

As we approach Goo Moremi, we can see the Tswapong Hills. Here, the endangered Cape vultures nest on the cliffs of the Goo Moremi Gorge. In the afternoon, a guided walk.

Day 16: Goo Moremi - Johannesburg

Depart from Goo Moremi and drive to the border with South Africa.

After the border formalities, drive to Johannesburg.

The tour ends around 5:00 PM at Johannesburg Airport.

*For this safari trip, a “local payment” is requested. This local payment will be collected by the tour leader at the start of each trip and is usually in the local currency or US dollars. The local payment will be used to cover, among other things, the entrance fees for the national parks and other excursion fees.

This price is based on two travellers. For single travellers; accommodation during the safari will be shared (at no extra cost) or a supplement of €700 (2026) per person applies for a single tent/room during the trip.

Optional extras:

Number of participants:
Our comfort group safaris are run in small groups to offer the best possible and most flexible itinerary.

Small groups mean more time for the traveller, shorter waiting times and a cosy, personal atmosphere during the journey. The average age on this tour is 38-45 but ages range from 20 to 60+ years.

The minimum age for children is 12 years old, provided they are accompanied by at least one adult. There is no age limit, but travellers aged 65 and over are required to provide a medical “fitness to travel” certificate, which can be obtained from your GP.

Language
As the participants on the above trip come from different countries, English will be spoken by the guide during the trip (with the exception of departure dates marked with a *, during which German will be spoken primarily).

Participation
From 16 years old, no maximum age. However, at least 1 adult must travel with every child under 18 years of age.

During the trip, walks will be made that require a certain level of stamina.

The walks are graded as easy to moderate and are always optional.

On all camping trips, participation is required in setting up the tent camp, preparing the meals and, of course, helping with the washing up.

Wild camping: 2 nights (in the Okavango Delta) will be spent “wild” camping,

This means you can stay in magnificent locations but there are no facilities. Everything that is needed will be taken.

The camping equipment; Spacious and comfortable igloo tent measuring 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.5 metres, which is easy to set up and take down. The tents have “built-in” mosquito nets and an en-suite chemical toilet. Shared hot water “bucket showers” are heated by fire. The tent has 2 camp beds with bedding, and there are comfortable camping chairs with back support. During the camping trip, your help will be requested in setting up camp, preparing meals, and washing up.

Meals:
During the journey, good and healthy meals are prepared using mostly local produce.

To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and a regular English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.

The lunch will mainly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (rolls) (picnic style).

The dinner will be most extensive with regular BBQ, stir-fries and the typical South African Potjiekos (all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.

If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.

Coffee and tea will also be served during dinner. Other drinks are not included and must be purchased separately.

During this trip, 15 breakfasts, 13 lunches, and 11 dinners are included in the tour price, of which 8 breakfasts and 4 dinners will be provided by the hotels. The remaining meals will be prepared by the guides around the campfire or in a boma.

During the trip, cooperation is requested with setting and clearing tables and washing up.

Medical conditions:
Anyone in good health may participate in this trip.

Luggage
Travel bag (due to limited space in the car, we recommend bringing luggage in a travel bag or backpack) with a maximum of 12 kg per person.

In addition, a small separate backpack or a handy bag for personal items.

Please bring your own (warm) sleeping bag, towel and small pillow (sleeping bags can be hired for approx. US$ 1 per day; please specify this when booking if required).

A hard suitcase cannot be taken in the truck.

Reservations
The agent reserves the right to amend a programme if the agent deems it necessary due to certain conditions, force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.

Should the vehicle break down, the agent will not be responsible for alternative accommodation other than camping, and there will be no compensation for flights or similar.

The agent requests a liability waiver form to be signed before departure of the trip. Failure to sign this form may result in the passenger being refused travel.
