Auto rondreis Zuid-Afrika, Namibië en Botswana

Hi Leony,

We've had to get our feet back on the ground at home this weekend, and unfortunately, it was straight back to work on Monday. How we enjoyed the last 4 weeks!

Even though it felt very long at the end (we're not used to being away for so long), we also needed the time to see and discover everything. With a total of 6000km on the clock, that's not surprising. Beautiful wide plains, amazing nature, and of course many beautiful animals.

You've organised it brilliantly! Lots of hidden gems and each overnight stay was a new (positive) surprise. From the lovely small-scale accommodation in Cape Town, modern apartment in Stellenbosch (which was upgraded), the cottages in Springbok, the Roadhouse (I'm mad about old cars), Desert Homestead and Desert Breeze, Vingerklip (where we did wonder what we'd find after a long stretch on gravel) to the really cool ‘houseboat on the water’ in Divundu and of course the Victoria Falls Hotel.

It was quite cold at night in Maun/Okavango but nice to finish off in luxury at Welgevonden.
The rental car was also superb. We had one flat tyre and were able to get it changed in Swakopmund (for free). It was nice to have so much space when you have to pack and unpack frequently.

Driving there was a bit of a struggle at times, having to unpack and pack our suitcases in and out of the car repeatedly, but we knew that would be the case beforehand. We often looked at each other when we walked into places, laughing that we would never have found them ourselves.

Thank you!!

Greetings Gabrielle and Ralf

Hello Leony

This weekend we've had to reacquaint ourselves with home life, and unfortunately, it was straight back to work on Monday.

We've had such a wonderful time over the past 4 weeks! Even though it felt very long at the end (we're not used to being away for so long), we also needed the time to see and discover everything. With a total of 6000km on the clock, that's not surprising. Beautiful wide-open plains, amazing nature and of course, lots of beautiful animals.

From the lovely, small-scale accommodation in Cape Town, the modern apartment in Stellenbosch (which was upgraded), the cottages in Springbok, the Roadhouse (I'm mad about old cars), Desert Homestead and Desert Breeze, Vingerklip (where we did wonder what we'd find after a long stretch on gravel) to the really cool ‘houseboat on the water’ in Divundu, and of course the Victoria Falls Hotel. 4×4 reis Mozambique

4x4 tour Mozambique

Hi Leony,

We are now back from our 14-day trip to Mozambique. What an experience and what a different world.

The car and services from Britz/Maui were entirely satisfactory.

Thank you for your efforts, accessibility and service provided. Was greatly appreciated.

Perhaps until next time.

Hi Leony,

We are at the airport after a lovely lunch at Warwick. We are indeed all double negative and are allowed to travel to NL.

Many of our friends are testing positive after returning from Austria or France, having been untested before they left. We feel the (quarantine) measures for South Africa are out of proportion. Hopefully, they will be abolished quickly.

We've had a fantastic time and it's gone far too quickly. We'd actually like to stay. I don't expect it will be another 13 years before we come back.

Thank you so much for arranging everything. You really went above and beyond, and we all appreciate it immensely. All the accommodations were 5-star. I found Chefs Warehouse and Waterfront to be truly amazing. The rest was also good, but those two really stood out. We also thoroughly enjoyed Cafe Charles by the waterfront.

The safari lodge activities were top-notch. We also found the Cape Canopy Tour in Hottentots Holland very worthwhile. The kids were happiest with paragliding.

And then I'm forgetting Babylonstoren. That's also a destination in itself.

Thanks again an awful lot!!!!

Safari reis door Mpumalanga, Swaziland en Kwazulu Natal

Self-drive, 2 weeks, upmarket accommodation - Safari through Mpumalanga, Swaziland and KwaZulu Natal.

Hello Leony
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you for organising such a fantastic adventure
for us. We had so much fun, Mala Mala was amazing and we saw this beautiful boy there, he was full up having just eaten and was now unable to lie comfortably on his tummy!
The food and accommodation here were top class.

Then to Mkhaya Lodge, another lovely but smaller reserve concentrating on rhinos.
The accommodation and campfire cooking made this a special place.

Mkhaya Lodge Eswatini (Swaziland)

Then to Thula Thula, WOW!!!!!! The history behind this place, Lawrence Anthony, what an incredible man and story about the 7 rogue elephants that got this place started!

Thula Thula Private Game Reserve and Safari Lodge in Zululand

Can’t wait to go back to see these lovely creatures again. I recommend everyone reads his book before they go, “The Elephant Whisperer“, it’s such an intriguing place. .

Our overnight stay at Buhala Lodge was perfect, as was the Oyster Box, which is my favourite hotel!
Watching England win the cricket and staying at Hoeveld House in Johannesburg was the icing on the cake!!
Thank you again Leony, you truly put a great trip together for us!!!
Until next time,
Kindest regards
Mark and Julie

Dear Leony,

Thank you very much for this trip. It has all been super, very nice, and beautiful, and that is certainly thanks to your help!!

We found all the hotels to be super luxurious and therefore had a very comfortable time there. Delicious food, good service, lovely bedrooms. During the day, we visited a project in the slums. The contrast between what we saw during the day and how the hotel was was huge. However, thanks to the beautiful hotel, we were also able to truly take a holiday and clear our heads for a while.

The hotels during the safari were absolutely amazing. In the first hotel, we had a view of the wildlife park, of a small waterhole where the elephants were bathing. In the evening, when it was already dark, we suddenly heard a roar. That must have been a lion. I tried to see if I could spot anything, but I didn't see him (even though the waterhole was also slightly lit).

In the second hotel, we had a beautiful view of the wildlife park from the dining room, where all sorts of animals were grazing or drinking. That was truly splendid as well.
