In short
An adventurous and versatile small-scale Group trip in an international setting by South Africa, Namibia, Botswana Okay Zimbabwe including game drive in Etosha Park,
a visit to the Fish River Canyon, the red dunes of the Sossusvlei, Bushman rock paintings, a walk through the desert, a Boat trip about Chobe River,

Programme
Day 1: Cape Town - Cederberg Mountain Region
After breakfast, depart at around 07:00 from Cape Town (please be at the departure point at least 30 minutes prior to departure) from the Double Tree by Hilton hotel and drive north.
Short stop at Blouberg Beach, from where there is a magnificent view of Table Mountain.
The journey continues towards Swartland, with a stop along the way at one of the many “padstals”, small roadside shops (pad meaning path in Afrikaans), where local products such as jams, biltong (dried meat) and tea are sold, heading north towards the spectacular Cederberg mountain region, the area of the well-known South African rooibos tea.

Day 2: Cederberg Mountain Region - Namaqualand Orange Gariep River
We travel north through Namaqualand to the Orange/Gariep River, which forms the border between South Africa and Namibia.
In the spring (July to September), there is a sea of wildflowers to be seen on this route. After a short stop in the village of Springbok to do some shopping, we drive to the Vioolsdrift border.
After crossing the border, it's a short distance to the camp.
Relaxing around the campfire where we can get to know each other better. The Orange / Gariep River forms the border between South Africa and Namibia.

Day 3: Namaqualand Orange River - Fish River Canyon - Keetmanshoop
’In the morning, there is the opportunity to explore the river by canoe.
Choose between a relaxed morning at the camp by the river or a half-day canoe trip (fee and optional). In the afternoon, drive to the Fish River Canyon.
The Fish River is the longest river in Namibia; at 650 km in length and the canyon is situated along the lower reaches of this seasonal river. Hike along the Fish River Canyon. Afterwards, drive to the town of Keetmanshoop.

Day 4: Keetmanshoop – Namib-Naukluft National Park
After breakfast, a visit to the Quiver Tree Forest and the “Giants Playground,” so named for its rock formations.
After visiting inland and driving towards the Namib Desert and the dunes of Sossusvlei. Arrival and the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the surroundings, take a short walk and set up camp.
The desert night sky is very clear and many people enjoy spotting the unique southern constellations, including the well-known Southern Cross.

Day 5: Sossusvlei - Namib-Naukluft National Park
Woke up early today and drove to the Namib-Naukluft National Park where we will climb Dune 45 to view the desert from a different perspective. The red sand of the dunes colours beautifully bright with the rising sun.
After the ascent of Dune 45, breakfast and a transfer by 4x4 vehicle to the famous Sossusvlei. Here we will take a walk through the “pans” and visit Deadvlei.

Day 6: Naukluft National Park - Swakopmund
After breakfast, a guided walk through the desert with an expert guide.
Then depart for a magnificent drive through the desert-like Namib-Naukluft National Park, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn.
On the way to Swakopmund, we pass through the town of Walvis Bay.
We will stop to look at flamingos (if we are lucky) before we head to the Atlantic coastal village of Swakopmund.
Upon arrival in Swakopmund, information will be provided about the many activities you can participate in the next day, and there will be time to explore the centre of Swakopmund.

Day 8: Swakopmund – Brandberg
We leave modern life behind and the village of Wlotskabaken, where a visit to the Lichen Fields, vast expanses of lichen, offers a unique and very fragile ecosystem where more than 120 species of fungi and algae thrive in the coastal mist.
These ancient organisms cover the gravel plains along the coast and play an important role in soil stabilisation and supporting insect life.
The guide will tell us about the origins of this. After this visit, we will leave the coast behind us and travel towards the Brandberg.
In the afternoon, a walk with a guide to the famous rock paintings, which are thought to be 2,000 years old (approx. 2-hour walk).

Day 10: Etosha National Park
A full day in Etosha National Park for a game drive.
We'll spend our day searching for the Big Five, visiting various watering holes along the way so you can take beautiful photos of the different animals.

Dag 12: Tsumeb - Divundu
Vanmorgen na het ontbijt vertrek uit het Tsumeb en een lange dag rijden door de prachtige Caprivi Strip richting Divundu en de Mahango Safari Lodge.

Dag 13: Divundu
In de ochtend een boottocht over de Kavango rivier op zoek naar dieren die bij de rivier komen drinken, de nijlpaarden en krokodillen en natuurlijk een uitbundig vogelleven.
In de middag kan worden relaxed bij het camp of er kan een game drive worden geboekt (optioneel en tegen bijbetaling) naar het Mahangu Nationaal Park.

Dag 15: Maun – Kwai Conservation area
De komende twee dagen worden doorgebracht in de Kwai Conservation area.
In de ochtend (vroeg) is er tijd voor een optionele vlucht over de Okavango delta, daarna vertrek uit Maun (neem een rugzakje mee met bagage voor de komende twee dagen, de rest van de spullen blijft in de truck) in 4×4 safari auto’s richting de Okavango Delta en de Kwai Conservation area.
In de namiddag een mokoro excursie in de Okavango Delta.

Participation
Vanaf 13 jaar, geen maximum leeftijd. Voor kinderen tussen de 8 – 12 jaar geldt dat deelname aan de reis op aanvraag is. Wel moet er voor elke kind onder de 18 jaar tenminste 1 volwassenen meereizen.
Voor reizigers ouder dan 60 jaar kan een fitheidverklaring worden gevraagd. Tijdens de reis worden er wandelingen gemaakt die een zeker uithoudingsvermogen vereisen.
The walks are graded as easy to moderate and are always optional. For all camping trips, participation is requested in setting up the camp, preparing meals, and of course, helping with the washing up.

Camping: overnachtingen op campings in de Nationale Parken of steden.
Zuid Afrikaanse en campings in Namibië zijn over het algemeen uitstekend te noemen met goede faciliteiten als warme en koude douches, restaurants, wasautomaten, postkantoor/telefooncellen en een souvenirwinkeltje.
Sommige campings beschikken over een zwembad. Vanaf Botswana kunnen de kampeerterreinen soms eenvoudig zijn met slechts enkele faciliteiten. Soms kan een camping ook prachtig gelegen zijn maar is het nadeel dat er minder faciliteiten zijn.
Camping equipment; Spacious and comfortable igloo tents measuring 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.5 metres that are easy to put up/take down. The tents have “built-in” mosquito nets.
Furthermore, there are mattresses approximately 5 cm thick and comfortable camping chairs with backrests.
Meals:
During the trip, good and healthy meals are prepared using mostly local produce.
To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and a regular English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.
Lunch will mostly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (picnic style). Dinner will be the most elaborate with regular BBQs, stir-fries and the typically South African Potjiekos (an all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.
If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.
Coffee and tea will also be served during dinner.

Reistas (i.v.m. met de ruimte in de auto is het beste om de bagage in een reistas of rugzak mee te nemen) met maximaal 23 kg pp. Zelf (warme) slaapzak, handdoek(en) en klein hoofdkussen meenemen.
Voor persoonlijke spullen kun je een apart rugzakje meenemen. Tijdens het bezoek aan Khwai en Moremi Game Reserve blijft de bagage in de safari truck, voor deze dagen moet je een kleine tas of rugzak meenemen met kleding, toiletartikelen en persoonlijke spullen.
