Programme
Day 1: Johannesburg – Greater Kruger area
Depart from Johannesburg at 06:30 in the morning and drive east towards the Mpumalanga province for a visit to the renowned Panorama Route, including a visit to God's Window and the Three Rondavels viewpoints.

Day 2: Kruger National Park
Full day in the world-famous Kruger National Park.
In Kruger National Park, game drives (trips in an open safari vehicle in search of wild animals) are undertaken to look for the animals that occur here, such as the lion, elephant, giraffe, rhino, and many other animal species.

Day 3: Kruger National Park

Day 4: Kruger National Park - Eswatini (formerly Swaziland)
Depart from Kruger National Park and drive south towards the border of the Kingdom of Swaziland and the mountainous Malolotja Nature Reserve.
The rest of the day to take walks and to enjoy the magnificent views.

Day 5: Eswatini (Swaziland) – KwaZulu-Natal
Depart from Malolotja Game Reserve after breakfast and drive to Mbabane, the capital of Swaziland for a visit to a craft and medicine market.
Afterwards, drive through Swaziland in a southerly direction to the border with South Africa and Kwa-Zulu Natal. Arrive at the Msinene Nature Reserve.
In the afternoon, a walk in the game reserve with a local guide along the Msinene River, searching for the shy Nyala antelope and the more than 540 different bird species found here.

Day 6: Kwa-Zulu Natal (Hluhluwe Game Reserve)
Today, a morning game drive will be taken in Hluhluwe Game Reserve.
In the afternoon, relax at the lodge to enjoy the sunset and the sounds of the bush.

Day 7: Kwa-Zulu Natal - Drakensberg
Depart from Zululand and drive in a southerly direction to the Drakensberg Mountains.
On the way, there is a stop at the “Mandela Capture Site“ near the village of Howick, the place where Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962 and subsequently held prisoner for 27 years.
There is a beautiful monument and a museum that can be visited.
Upon arrival in the Drakensberg mountains, the rest of the day is free for walks and enjoying the surroundings.

Day 11: Wild Coast – Addo Elephant National Park
Drive to Addo Elephant National Park.
In the afternoon, a game drive in search of the Addo elephant, but also for smaller creatures such as the dung beetle, which is found here and is often seen crossing the road, pushing an elephant's dung pellet in front of it.
Overnight stay at the Addo Elephant National Park rest camp. A nice feature of this rest camp is that there is a floodlit waterhole, so that in the evening you can enjoy watching the nocturnal animals that, with a bit of luck, come here to drink (chalet)

Day 12: Addo Elephant National Park - Plettenberg Bay
This morning there's still a game drive in Addo Elephant National Park before departing for the pleasant town of Plettenberg Bay, situated on a stunning bay.
On the way to Plett, a visit to Tsitsikamma National Park. The afternoon is free for you to explore the charming village.

Day 13: Plettenberg Bay
Day at leisure for swimming and exploring the village at your own pace.
There is a beautiful long sandy beach where a lovely walk can be taken.
Activities can also be booked, such as bungee jumping, and boat trips to look for dolphins and whales.
In the afternoon, a guided walk through the Robberg Nature Reserve.

Day 14: Plettenberg Bay – Hermanus
Depart from Plettenberg Bay and drive to the Knysna Heads viewpoint. Afterwards, drive via Mossel Bay and Swellendam to the coastal town of Hermanus.
In Hermanus, whales can be seen in the bay from June to September as they come here to give birth.
The whales can be seen from the coast, or optionally, a boat cruise can be taken (for a fee).
In the winter months, a walk is taken along the famous Cliff Path, which offers a magnificent view over Walker Bay.
In the summer months, a walk is taken in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve.

Day 16: Cape Town
Today, a visit will be paid to Cape Point and Cape Point National Park, driving via the stunning Chapman's Peak Drive to the harbour town of Hout Bay.
A visit to the penguin colony at Simonstown is one of the highlights of today.
You can also visit the famous Victoria and Alfred Waterfront at your leisure.
The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is Cape Town's well-known entertainment district with many shops, pavement cafes and restaurants.
Optionally, a visit can be made to Robben Island from here (not included).

Our comfort safaris are run in small groups to offer the best and most flexible programme possible. Small groups mean more time for the traveller, fewer waiting times, and a cosy, personal atmosphere during the trip.
The average age on this tour is 38-45, but ages range from 20 to 60+ years. The minimum age for children is 12 years when accompanied by at least one adult. There is no upper age limit, but travellers aged 65+ are required to provide a medical “fitness to travel” certificate, available from your GP.

Visa
If you possess a Dutch passport that is valid for at least 30 days after your departure from South Africa, no visa is required for South Africa.
No visa is required for eSwatini either, but your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after departure from eSwatini. There must also be sufficient blank pages next to each other in the passport for the necessary stamps (allow for 2 blank pages per country visited).
If you hold a nationality other than Dutch, please check with the consulate of the relevant country. AfrikaOnline does not provide visas.

Transport
Transport during the journey is in a custom-built 12-seater 4x4 safari truck with seatbelts, large slide-open windows, or a 12-seater Mercedes Sprinter minibus with air conditioning and seatbelts.
On approximately 5% of the trips, a Mercedes Sprinter minibus with 12 seats and air conditioning, along with a luggage trailer, is used.
Travel – Cancellation Insurance
It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance, travel insurance is mandatory.
AfrikaOnline unfortunately cannot take out insurance; we would be happy to refer you to, for example, the ANWB.
We kindly request that you provide us with the name of the insurer and the policy numbers of both insurances by email to AfrikaOnline as soon as possible and well before your departure.
Participation
From 12 years old, no maximum age. However, at least 1 adult must travel for every child under 18. During the trip, there will be walks that require a certain level of stamina.
The walks are graded as easy to moderate and are always optional.
For all group trips, participation is requested in setting up camp, preparing meals, and of course, helping with the washing up.
Teamspirit is part of the fun of travelling in a group.

All rooms are twin rooms and have separate beds and a bathroom.
Meals:
During the trip, good and healthy meals are prepared using mostly local produce.
To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and a regular English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.
The lunch will mainly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (rolls) (picnic style).
The dinner will be most extensive with regular BBQ, stir-fries and the typical South African Potjiekos (all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.
If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.
Coffee and tea will also be served during dinner. Other drinks are not included and must be purchased separately.
During this trip, 16 breakfasts, 12 lunches and 10 dinners are included in the tour price. Of these, 12 breakfasts and 6 dinners will be provided by the lodge where you will be staying.
The remaining meals are provided by the guides in collaboration with the group and are eaten around the campfire.
Luggage
Travel bag (due to limited car space, it is best to pack luggage in a travel bag or backpack) with a maximum of 12 kg per person.
Furthermore, a small backpack for personal items such as your passport, phone, water bottle, etc., for in the truck and during hikes.
In addition to this, a camera bag may be taken. Hard-shell suitcases cannot be taken.
Responsible travel:
As this trip will be travelling through nature reserves, it is important to know that our motto “leave nothing behind but our footprints” is taken very seriously.
We also support the local population with these trips by hiring them as guides.
With this trip, we are supporting the PEN organisation www.pen.org.za by taking disadvantaged children to Pilanesberg Game Reserve several times a year to teach them about nature and its conservation.
Reservations
The agent reserves the right to amend a programme if the agent deems it necessary due to certain conditions, force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.
Should the vehicle break down, the agent will not be responsible for alternative accommodation other than camping, and there will be no compensation for flights or similar.
Agent requests a compensation form to be signed prior to departure for the trip.
Failure to sign this form may result in the passenger being refused travel.
