In short
One Adventurous camping safari in an international setting by South Africa Okay Namibia. Getting acquainted with Cape Town and the west coast of South Africa.
In Namibia the following excursions including; swimming in the Orange River, visit to Fish River Canyon, guided walk on Dune 45 a visit to Sossusvlei,

Programme
Day 1: Cape Town – Cederberg Mountain Region
After breakfast, depart at around 07:00 from Cape Town (please be at the departure point at least 30 minutes prior to departure) from the Double Tree by Hilton hotel and drive north.
Short stop at Blouberg Beach, from where there is a magnificent view of Table Mountain.
The journey continues towards Swartland, with a stop along the way at one of the many “padstals”, small roadside shops (pad meaning path in Afrikaans), where local products such as jams, biltong (dried meat) and tea are sold, heading north towards the spectacular Cederberg mountain region, the area of the well-known South African rooibos tea.

Day 2: Cederberg Mountain Region - Namaqualand Orange Gariep River
We travel north through Namaqualand to the Orange/Gariep River, which forms the border between South Africa and Namibia.
In the spring (July to September), there is a sea of wildflowers to be seen on this route. After a short stop in the village of Springbok to do some shopping, we drive to the Vioolsdrift border.
After crossing the border, a short drive to the camp. Relaxing around the campfire where we can get to know each other better. The Orange / Gariep River forms the border between South Africa and Namibia.

Day 3: Namaqualand Orange River - Fish River Canyon - Keetmanshoop
’In the morning, there is the opportunity to explore the river by canoe.
Choose between a relaxed morning at the camp by the river or a half-day canoe trip (fee and optional). In the afternoon, drive to the Fish River Canyon.
The Fish River is the longest river in Namibia; at 650 km in length and the canyon is situated along the lower reaches of this seasonal river. Hike along the Fish River Canyon. Afterwards, drive to the town of Keetmanshoop.

Day 4: Keetmanshoop – Namib-Naukluft National Park
After breakfast, a visit to the Quiver Tree Forest and the “Giants Playground” named for its rock formations. After visiting here, we head inland and drive towards the Namib Desert and the dunes of Sossusvlei.
Arrival and the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the surroundings, take a short walk, and set up camp. The desert night sky is very clear and many people enjoy spotting the unique southern constellations, including the well-known Southern Cross.

Day 5: Sossusvlei - Namib-Naukluft National Park
An early start today and a drive to the Namib-Naukluft National Park where we will climb Dune 45 to view the desert from a different perspective.
The red sand of the dunes colours beautifully brightly with the rising of the sun.
After the ascent of Dune 45, breakfast and a transfer by 4x4 vehicle to the famous Sossusvlei. Here we will take a walk through the “pans” and visit Deadvlei.

Day 6: Naukluft National Park - Swakopmund
After breakfast, a guided walk through the desert with an expert guide.
Afterwards, depart for a magnificent drive through the desert-like Namib-Naukluft National Park, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn. En route to Swakopmund, we will pass through the town of Walvis Bay.
We will stop to look at flamingos (if we are lucky) before we head to the Atlantic coastal village of Swakopmund.
Upon arrival in Swakopmund, information will be provided about the many activities you can participate in the next day, and there will be time to explore the centre of Swakopmund.

Day 8: Swakopmund - Brandberg
We leave modern life behind and the village of Wlotskabaken, where a visit to the Lichen Fields, vast expanses of lichen, offers a unique and very fragile ecosystem where more than 120 species of fungi and algae thrive in the coastal mist.
These ancient organisms cover the gravel plains along the coast and play an important role in soil stabilisation and supporting insect life.
The guide will tell us about the origin of this. After this visit, we will leave the coast behind and travel towards the Brandberg. In the afternoon, a walk with the guide to see the famous rock paintings, which are thought to be as much as 2,000 years old (approx. 2-hour walk).

Day 10: Etosha National Park
A full day in Etosha National Park for a game drive.
We'll spend our day searching for the Big Five, visiting various watering holes along the way so you can take beautiful photos of the different animals.

Visa
If you hold a Dutch passport, you will need a passport for South Africa that is valid for at least 90 days upon arrival and has at least 3 blank pages.
For Namibia, a visa has been required since 1 April 2025, plus a passport that is valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in Namibia. Namibia also requires at least 3 blank pages in the passport for the necessary stamps.

Participation
From 10 years old (depending on the trip), no maximum age. However, at least one adult must accompany each child under 18 years old. Children between 8 and 10 years old upon request.
For travellers over 65 years of age, a health declaration is requested in response to questions from the GP. During the trip, walks will be undertaken that require a certain level of stamina.
The walks are graded as easy to moderate and are always optional.
Participation in camping and cooking duties is required on all camping trips.
Overnight stays
Lodges and camps: 10 nights in lodges or camps with a private bathroom, usually with a shower and toilet.
Meals:
During the trip, good and healthy meals are prepared using mostly local produce.
To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and a regular English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.
Lunch will mostly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (picnic style). Dinner will be the most elaborate with regular BBQs, stir-fries and the typically South African Potjiekos (an all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.
If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.
Coffee and tea will also be served during dinner.
Other drinks are not included and must be purchased separately. During this trip, 10 breakfasts, 9 lunches, and 8 dinners are included.
Medical conditions:
Anyone in good health can participate in this trip.
Luggage
Travel bag (due to limited space in the car, only luggage in a travel bag or backpack is permitted) with a maximum of 20 kg per person. For during the day in the car, it is handy to have a small backpack for usual items such as sun cream, water bottles, sunglasses, etc.
