Migration
From December to April, the wildebeest migration spreads across the southern plains of the Serengeti. Depending on the rainfall, the animals move from the Gol Kopjes in the east to the Moru Kopjes in the west of the park.

This area is easily accessible from the centrally located Seronera. Between May and August, the migration moves slowly through the western corridor towards the Ikoma and Grumeti Wildlife Management areas.

These areas are located outside of the Serengeti National Park but there are no fences and the animals can move freely. From September to the end of November, during the short rainy season, the animals move to the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya, the so-called MIGRATION across the Mara River, famous from many nature films.
