Day 1: Nairobi
Transfer from Nairobi Airport to The La Mada Hotel. Around 6:00 PM there will be a briefing at The La Mada Hotel by the guide about the itinerary.
Afterwards, dinner in the hotel with the group (not included and at your own expense).

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
Depart from Nairobi after breakfast and drive north to Samburu National Reserve.
On the way to Samburu Park, there are many small villages where we stop here and there to get acquainted.
Arrival at the camp and in the afternoon a first game drive in search of wild animals through Samburu National Reserve.
Overnight stay at Samburu Riverside Camp or Samburu Sopa Lodge in a double permanent safari tent or double cottage with en-suite bathroom (permanent tented camp)

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve – Aberdare Highlands
Early breakfast and morning game drive in Samburu National Park. A picnic lunch at a beautiful spot on the Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu National Park.
Afterwards, a beautiful route to the Aberdare Highlands region. Arrival in the afternoon for free time.

Day 4: Aberdare Highlands - Masai Mara
After breakfast, Depart the Aberdare Highlands and drive south to the world-famous Masai Mara. En route, stop at Thomson Falls and enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot.
Arrive at the camp and the afternoon is free to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The Duma Mara Bushcamp is located a stone's throw from the Masai Mara Game Reserve on the Talek River, and you can hear the hippos at night.

Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Early breakfast and departure from the camp for a full day of game driving in the Maasai Mara.
The Maasai Mara is known for its large number of animals and, of course, the annual ”Great Migration” of wildebeest and zebras. Picnic lunch at a beautiful spot on the banks of the Mara River.
At the end of the day, back to the camp for dinner.

Day 6: Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, depart Kanaga Julia’s Camp and take a short morning game drive through the Masai Mara to Talek Gate.
After that, a visit to a Masai market where you can buy nice souvenirs like beautiful beaded necklaces and colourful red Masai cloths.
After visiting the market, drive in a northerly direction via the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha and Camp Carnelly's, located on the shores of Lake Naivasha.
The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure and, if time permits, there is an opportunity for an optional boat trip on Lake Naivasha (at an additional cost).

Day 7: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, depart from Lake Naivasha and drive via Nairobi to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Kilimanjaro.
On the way to a nice spot for lunch, passing through small villages and wide savannah.
Arrive at the camp in the afternoon and the rest of the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Day 8: Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, drive to the nearby Amboseli National Park for a full day of game driving.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park – Arusha
After breakfast, depart from Amboseli and drive towards the Oloitokitok border crossing with Tanzania. After customs formalities and crossing the border, drive towards Tanzania's “safari capital”, Arusha, with the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.
On the way to Arusha, a beautiful guided walk at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Arrival in the afternoon and the rest of the afternoon at your leisure in Arusha.

Day 10: Arusha – Serengeti National Park
Depart from Arusha in 4×4 safari Landcruisers and drive to the world-famous Serengeti National Park.
The park offers large concentrations of antelopes, zebras, wildebeest and typical African vistas with acacia trees and endless grasslands.
On the way to the camp, game driving in search of the BIG FIVE.

Dag 11: Serengeti Nationaal Park – Ngorongoro Krater Conservation Area
Early start for a final game drive in Serengeti National Park.

Along the way, many Maasai settlements and herders tending their cattle.

Dag 12: Ngorongoro Krater Conservation Area – Lake Eyasi - Karatu
Bij het eerste licht opstaan en rijden naar de Ngorongoro Krater voor een bezoek aan de Ngorongoro Krater.

Today is a great chance to see the famous Big Five: the elephant, leopard, buffalo, lion, and rhinoceros.
Na het bezoek aan de Ngorongoro Krater rijden naar het Lake Eyasi met kans om kennis te maken met leden van de Datoga en Hadzari stam. Daarna rijden naar het dorpje Karatu.

Als uw voorkeur uitgaat naar een langer of korter verblijf in Kenia of Tanzania of een verlenging van uw reis in bijvoorbeeld Mombasa of op Zanzibar dan kan dat natuurlijk.
Een reis “op maat” naar uw persoonlijke wensen kan ook. Als u uw reiswensen aan ons doorgeeft maken wij graag, geheel kosteloos, een goede offerte voor u.

Onze comfort lodge groepssafari’s worden uitgevoerd in kleine groepjes om een zo goed en flexibel mogelijk programma aan te bieden.
Kleine groepjes houdt in; meer tijd voor de reiziger, minder wachttijden en een gezellige, persoonlijke sfeer tijdens de reis. De gemiddelde leeftijd op deze tour is 38-45 maar leeftijden variëren van 18 tot 65 jaar.
The minimum age for children is, in principle, 12 years, but depending on the trip and provided they are accompanied by at least one adult, younger ages may also be permitted upon request.
For travellers over 55, a case-by-case assessment can be made to determine the suitability of the requested journey, and a medical “fitness to travel” certificate may be requested from your GP.

Hospitals and healthcare
Er zijn kleine veldziekenhuizen verspreid over Kenia Tanzania. Grotere ziekenhuizen zijn er alleen in Nairobi, Mombasa, Arusha en Dar es Salaam.

The Flying Doctors Society of Africa offers temporary membership for tourists for a small fee. In return, “members” receive free air transport to a hospital or medical centre in the event of a serious accident or severe illness while on safari.
Malaria
de beste manier om malaria te voorkomen is er voor zorgen dat u niet wordt gebeten. Draag in de schemer (ochtend en avond) lange broeken en shirts met lange mouwen en gebruik een muggenspray met het middel DEET op enkels, handen en nek.
In addition, it is highly recommended to take good malaria prophylaxis. Please consult your GGD for more information.
Photography
Het is in Kenia en Tanzania verboden om foto’s te nemen van de President, de politie, militairen, gevangenissen en vliegvelden.
Indien u een foto wilt nemen van de lokale bevolking is het aan te raden om vooraf toestemming te vragen hiervoor.
Voor u mag het een dierbare herinnering zijn aan uw vakantie maar veel bewoners van Kenia en Tanzania zijn bijgelovig en willen niet dat u een foto van hen neemt.
Hou uw camera in een stofvrije zak of container.
Transport
Vervoer tijdens de reis door Kenia is per 16 persoon safari adventure truck. Comfortabel reizen en uitstekend om game drives mee te maken.
Voor de reis door Tanzania worden speciale Safari 4×4 Landcruisers gebruikt.
Travel – Cancellation Insurance
Taking out travel insurance is mandatory. It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance.

Participation
Deze reis is geschikt voor kinderen en alhoewel de afstanden tussen de verschillende parken soms aan de lange kant zijn is er onderweg voldoende tijd om te stoppen en zijn er interessante dingen te zien onderweg.
Om optimaal van deze reis te kunnen genieten raden we aan niet te reizen met kinderen jonger dan 12 jaar (uitzonderingen daar gelaten).
Ook raden we aan dat er voor elk kind onder de 18 jaar tenminste 1 volwassenen meereist.
Medical conditions:

Luggage
Reistas (i.v.m. met de ruimte in de auto is het beste om de bagage in een reistas of rugzak mee te nemen, (harde) koffers niet toegestaan) met maximaal 20 kg per persoon plus een klein rugzakje voor persoonlijke items als camera, zonnebrand crème, waterfles etc.
Afmetingen bagage maximaal 60cm hoog/ 38 cm breed en 88cm lang, dit i.v.m. de bagagekluisjes in de safari truck.
