Day 1: Nairobi
Transfer from Nairobi Airport to The La Mada Hotel. Around 6:00 PM there will be a briefing at The La Mada Hotel by the guide about the itinerary.
Afterwards, dinner in the hotel with the group (not included and at your own expense).

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
Depart from Nairobi after breakfast and drive north to Samburu National Reserve.
On the way to Samburu Park, there are many small villages where we stop here and there to get acquainted.
Arrival at the camp and in the afternoon a first game drive in search of wild animals through Samburu National Reserve.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve – Aberdare Highlands
Early breakfast and morning game drive in Samburu National Park. A picnic lunch at a beautiful spot on the Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu National Park.
Afterwards, a beautiful route to the Aberdare Highlands region. Arrival in the afternoon for free time.

Day 4: Aberdare Highlands - Masai Mara
After breakfast, Depart the Aberdare Highlands and drive south to the world-famous Masai Mara. En route, stop at Thomson Falls and enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot.
Arrive at the camp and the afternoon is free to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The Duma Mara Bushcamp is located a stone's throw from the Masai Mara Game Reserve on the Talek River, and you can hear the hippos at night.

Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Early breakfast and departure from the camp for a full day of game driving in the Maasai Mara.
The Maasai Mara is known for its large number of animals and, of course, the annual ”Great Migration” of wildebeest and zebras. Picnic lunch at a beautiful spot on the banks of the Mara River.
At the end of the day, back to the camp for dinner.

Day 6: Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, depart Kanaga Julia’s Camp and take a short morning game drive through the Masai Mara to Talek Gate.
After that, a visit to a Masai market where you can buy nice souvenirs like beautiful beaded necklaces and colourful red Masai cloths.
After visiting the market, drive in a northerly direction via the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha and Camp Carnelly's, located on the shores of Lake Naivasha.
The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure and, if time permits, there is an opportunity for an optional boat trip on Lake Naivasha (at an additional cost).

Day 7: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, depart from Lake Naivasha and drive via Nairobi to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Kilimanjaro.
On the way to a nice spot for lunch, passing through small villages and wide savannah.
Arrive at the camp in the afternoon and the rest of the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Day 8: Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, drive to the nearby Amboseli National Park for a full day of game driving.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park – Arusha
After breakfast, depart from Amboseli and drive towards the Oloitokitok border crossing with Tanzania. After customs formalities and crossing the border, drive towards Tanzania's “safari capital”, Arusha, with the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.
On the way to Arusha, a beautiful guided walk at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Arrival in the afternoon and the rest of the afternoon at your leisure in Arusha.

Day 10: Arusha – Serengeti National Park
Depart from Arusha in 4×4 safari Landcruisers and drive to the world-famous Serengeti National Park.
The park offers large concentrations of antelopes, zebras, wildebeest and typical African vistas with acacia trees and endless grasslands.
On the way to the camp, game driving in search of the BIG FIVE.

Day 11: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
Early start for a final game drive in Serengeti National Park.
Afterwards, depart from the Serengeti. Drive towards the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area.
Along the way, many Maasai settlements and herders tending their cattle.
Arrival at Embalakai Ngorongoro Camp and rest of the afternoon at your leisure around the camp.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area – Lake Eyasi - Karatu
Rising at first light and driving to the Ngorongoro Crater for a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater.
The Ngorongoro Crater is often called the 8th wonder of the world, and upon arrival you will see for yourself why.
Today is a great chance to see the famous Big Five: the elephant, leopard, buffalo, lion, and rhinoceros.
After visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, drive to Lake Eyasi with the chance to meet members of the Datoga and Hadzabe tribes. Afterwards, drive to the village of Karatu.
Arrive in the afternoon and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 13: Karatu – (Arusha Airport) - Nairobi

Extension of the journey
If you prefer a longer or shorter stay in Kenya or Tanzania, or an extension to your trip in, for example, Mombasa or Zanzibar, that is naturally possible.

Extensions in Zanzibar are available from €0.45 per day (excluding flights from Arusha to Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, costing from approx. US$ 325 per person, including airport tax)

Our comfort lodge group safaris are run in small groups to offer the best and most flexible itinerary possible.
Small groups mean more time for the traveller, shorter waiting times, and a cosy, personal atmosphere during the journey. The average age on this tour is 38-45, but ages range from 18 to 65 years.
The minimum age for children is, in principle, 12 years, but depending on the trip and provided they are accompanied by at least one adult, younger ages may also be permitted upon request.
For travellers over 55, a case-by-case assessment can be made to determine the suitability of the requested journey, and a medical “fitness to travel” certificate may be requested from your GP.

The journey is always accompanied by 2 experienced and certified English-speaking certified guides/drivers for optimal knowledge, information, and individual attention.
Visa:
For travel to Kenya and Tanzania, you must be in possession of a valid Dutch passport that is valid for at least 6 months after your return from the trip, and an entry visa.
You should arrange this before leaving the Netherlands. For Kenya https://evisa.go.ke/evisa as Tanzania https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/ Can an electronic visa be applied for?.
There must also be enough blank pages side-by-side in the passport for the necessary stamps. If you hold a nationality other than Dutch, please check with the Consulate of the relevant country.

Overnight stays in hotels, lodges, bush camps and tented safari camps in a double room with an en-suite bathroom for a unique African safari experience.
Hospitals and healthcare
There are small district hospitals scattered across Kenya and Tanzania. Larger hospitals are only found in Nairobi, Mombasa, Arusha, and Dar es Salaam.
It is therefore also important to inquire about recommended vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis well in advance of departure.
It is also wise to put together a small travel first-aid kit with, among other things, Imodium for diarrhoea, ORS, etc. (also check www.gezondheidsnet.nl/reisapotheek).
The Flying Doctors Society of Africa offers temporary membership for tourists for a small fee. In return, “members” receive free air transport to a hospital or medical centre in the event of a serious accident or severe illness while on safari.
Malaria
The best way to prevent malaria is to make sure you don't get bitten. During twilight (morning and evening) wear long trousers and long-sleeved shirts and use an insect repellent containing DEET on your ankles, hands and neck.
In addition, it is highly recommended to take good malaria prophylaxis. Please consult your GGD for more information.
Photography
In Kenya and Tanzania, it is prohibited to take photographs of the President, police, military personnel, prisons, and airports.
If you wish to take a photograph of the local people, it is advisable to ask for permission beforehand.
For you, it may be a cherished memory of your holiday, but many residents of Kenya and Tanzania are superstitious and do not want you to take their photograph.
Keep your camera in a dust-free bag or container.
Transport
Transport during the trip through Kenya is by a 16-person safari adventure truck. Comfortable travel and excellent for game drives.
For the trip through Tanzania, special Safari 4x4 Landcruisers are used.
Travel – Cancellation Insurance
Taking out travel insurance is mandatory. It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance.
AfrikaOnline is unfortunately unable to arrange insurance.
We kindly request that you provide us with the name of the insurer and the policy numbers of both insurances by email to AfrikaOnline as soon as possible and well before your departure.
Participation
This trip is suitable for children, and although the distances between the different parks can sometimes be a bit long, there is plenty of time to stop along the way and there are interesting things to see en route.
To make the most of this trip, we recommend not travelling with children under 12 years of age (with exceptions).
We also recommend that at least one adult travels with each child under the age of 18.
Medical conditions:
Anyone in good health may participate in this trip.
Luggage
Travel bag (due to space in the car, it is best to bring luggage in a travel bag or rucksack; (hard) suitcases are not permitted) with a maximum of 20 kg per person plus a small rucksack for personal items such as a camera, sun cream, water bottle, etc.
Dimensions: luggage maximum 60cm high / 38cm wide and 88cm long, this is due to the luggage lockers in the safari truck.
Reservations
The agent reserves the right to amend a programme if the agent deems it necessary due to certain conditions, force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.
The tour operator is asking us to sign a so-called “indemnity” form upon arrival and before departure.
