Get in contact with KLM via WhatsApp
SCHIPHOL – KLM is to be one of the first companies in the world to receive an official business WhatsApp account. The airline will use this to communicate one-on-one with customers, the airline reports.
WhatsApp is providing a select number of businesses with the opportunity to trial business services via the platform.
Passengers can opt in to stay in touch with KLM via WhatsApp during booking. Boarding passes can be requested through the messaging service, and the airline will send flight time information.
KLM has been at the forefront of social media for years. Communication with customers takes place via various platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and WeChat.
“I am proud that KLM is the first airline in the world with a verified WhatsApp account,” says CEO Pieter Elbers. “This underscores our role as an aviation pioneer. We want to be where our customers are, and given the billion users, that’s also on WhatsApp. Via our account, we can assist customers worldwide 24/7. A new milestone in our social media strategy.”
