Mauritius welcomes international travellers
Mauritius welcomes international travellers from 15 July 2021. The island will open in phases in 2021, and in the first phase, from 15 July to 30 September 2021, vaccinated travellers can enjoy a resort holiday on the island.
Travellers to Mauritius aged 18 or over must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. They must take a PCR test between 5 and 7 days before departure and a negative result is required to travel to the island. Travellers will also undergo a PCR test upon arrival at Mauritius airport and on day 7 and 14 of their resort holiday, where applicable.
Holidaymakers can enjoy facilities within their chosen resort grounds, including the swimming pool and the beach. If guests stay for longer than 14 days and have negative PCR tests during their resort stay, they can then explore the island's attractions. However, for shorter stays, they may leave the resort earlier to travel back home.
A list of pre-approved Covid-19 safe resorts will be available from 20 June 2021 at www.mauritiusnow.com
For phase 2, from 1 October 2021, vaccinated travellers may enter the country without restrictions upon presentation of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to departure.
Unvaccinated travellers will be subject to the 14-day room quarantine for both Phase 1 and 2 until further notice.
