In short
Familiarisation trip door het zuidelijke deel van Mozambique met o.a. een bezoek aan de hoofdstad Maputo,
de witte stranden van Barra Beach, wandeling door het historische stadje Inhambane, de prachtige stranden van Vilanculos
en een dagtocht per traditionele dhow (Arabische zeilboot) naar de Bazaruto Islands waar gesnorkeld kan worden in het marine park.

Programme
Dag 1: Maputo – Xai Xai
Vertrek vanaf het Southern Sun Maputo hotel om 13.00 uur (tenminste 30 minuten voor vertrek aanwezig zijn in het Southern Sun hotel) en rijden langs dorpjes en bananenplantages naar de kust en de Indische oceaan.
Arrived in Xai Xai in the afternoon, just in time for a lovely walk along the beach to stretch our legs after the long journey.
Overnight stay in Go Wild Resort in a double room. (lodge)

Dag 2: Xai Xai – Vilanculos
After breakfast, we leave Xai Xai and drive north towards the town of Vilanculos, which is famous for its idyllic white sandy beaches and azure blue sea.
Alhoewel het een lange dag rijden is zal het zeker geen saai dag zijn. Onderweg naar Vilanculos voert de reis langs talrijke dorpjes, kokosnoot, cashewnoten en suikerrietplantages, zodat onderweg al een goed beeld ontstaat van het kleurrijke landschap.

Aankomst bij het door palmbomen omlijnde zandstrand van Vilanculos en rest van de namiddag ter vrije besteding.

Dag 3: Vilanculos
This morning after breakfast we will board a traditional Dhow for a visit to Magaruque Island.
A whole day to visit the island, go snorkelling and enjoy the beautiful beaches of the Indian Ocean.

Dag 4: Vilanculos – Barra Beach (Inhambane)
Depart from Vilanculos after breakfast and drive along the coast to the town of Inhambane and Praia de Barra.
Arrival at the palm-fringed sandy beach of Praia de Barra and the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure for relaxing, swimming and snorkelling.

Dag 5: Praia de Barra
A full day to spend as you wish in and around Praia de Barra. You can relax by the sea, go for a walk on the beach or book excursions such as scuba diving, snorkelling, quad biking, ocean safaris and much more.
Overnight stay at the Bay View Lodge in a double room with an en-suite bathroom.

Dag 6: Praia de Barra
Vanmorgen na het ontbijt rijden naar het dorpje Tofo en een bezoek aan Tofo Beach, een strand dat bekend staat om de walvishaaien en de manta rays die hier voor de kust zwemmen. Het dorpje Tofo heeft een gezellig sfeer met leuke barretjes en kleine restaurantjes.

Visa
Indien je naar Mozambique reist en er minder dan 30 dagen verblijft is er geen visum nodig.
Wel moet je je tenminste 2 dagen voor aankomst registeren op de volgende website www.evisa.gov.mz. Je krijgt dan een bewijs van registratie.
Bewaar dit bewijs goed. Na registratie kunt u 30 dagen in Mozambique blijven. U mag binnen deze 30 dagen meerdere keren het land binnenkomen.
Bij vertrek uit het land moet je het registratieformulier weer laten zien. Verder moet het Nederlands paspoort nog tenminste 6 maanden geldig zijn terugkomst van de reis en moeten nog tenminste 2 lege pagina’s zijn in het paspoort.
Indien u in het bezit bent van een andere Nationaliteit dan de Nederlandse dan zelf controleren bij het Consulaat van de betreffende land. AfrikaOnline verzorgd geen visa.

Transport
Vervoer tijdens de reis is speciale safaritruck met 12 stoelen.
Comfortable travel and excellent for game drives. Large windows so everyone has a good view.

Participation
From 10 years old, no maximum age. However, for every child under 18, at least 1 adult must travel with them.

During the trip, walks will be made that require a certain level of stamina.
The walks are graded as easy to moderate and are always optional.
Overnight stays
In simple hotels, guesthouses, bed & breakfasts, bungalows, chalets, and permanent tented camps.
On request, a double bed or two single beds and usually with a private bathroom with shower and toilet.
Meals:
Tijdens de reis worden goede en gezonde maaltijden bereid door de gids bij de safari truck. Deze maaltijden zullen veelal bestaan uit locale producten.
To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and a regular English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.
Lunch will mostly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (picnic style). Dinner will be the most elaborate with regular BBQs, stir-fries and the typically South African Potjiekos (an all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.
If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.
Tijdens het diner wordt ook koffie en thee geschonken. Overige dranken zijn exclusief en moeten zelf worden ingekocht. Deze reis is inclusief 4x ontbijt, 1x lunch en 4x diner.

Luggage
Travel bag (due to space in the car, it is best to pack luggage in a travel bag or backpack) with a maximum of 20 kg per person.
Voor overdag in de auto is het makkelijk om een klein rugzakje te hebben voor de persoonlijke spullen zoals zonnebrand crème, flesjes water, zonnebril etc.
