Good2Go – The tour operator is committed to sustainable and responsible travel.

This is reflected in the “low impact” style of travel, where all that is taken are photographs and all that is left are footprints.

The travel company, 100%, is South African-owned and aims to make a real difference to the lives of the people in the countries it visits.

This trip supports the following causes: Felix Unite Provenance Camp 100%, which is African-owned and has 46 Namibian and 1 South African staff member. Meals are sourced locally, and the camp has set up a community vegetable garden and supports a local nursery.

Brandberg White Lady Lodge is 100% Namibian-owned and all the staff are from Namibia. They generate 100% of their electricity from solar power and use groundwater to grow their own fruit and vegetables.

The lodge contributes to the introduction of wild animals in the vicinity and assists with anti-poaching programmes. Capbon guesthouse in Windhoek sources all its staff from the local community.

The guesthouse is minimising its carbon footprint by generating electricity from solar power, with any surplus being fed back into the Windhoek city electricity grid.

Audi Safari Camp is owned by a South African proprietor who employs all the staff (approx. 40 people) from the local community of Maun and the surrounding area. They also offer an extensive training project for the staff.

The camp supports the local Batswana community by sourcing products locally and has its own vegetable garden where staff grow fresh produce for use in the lodge.

They further support the Okavango Kopana Mokoro Community Trust with entrance and camping fees, which are paid to them and in this way cover the salaries of the traditional “polers”.

Furthermore, polers are encouraged to invest in the purchase of a replica made from fibre, rather than the traditional mokoro, which is made from a hollowed-out sausage tree and lasts only five years. This will help to prevent the sausage tree from disappearing.
