Hop on Hop off
This 13-day journey is part of the 21-day Cape to Victoria Falls Grand Explorer comfort group tour (AOL 410). As not everyone can take such a long holiday, the trip can be done in two stages, a 13-day or a 21-day tour.

When you choose this shortened version, the trip ends after breakfast on day 13, and the rest of the group continues on to Victoria Falls.

Good2Go The tour operator is committed to sustainable and responsible travel. This is reflected in their “low impact” style of travel where all that is taken is photographs and all that is left behind are footprints.

The travel organisation, 100%, is South African-owned and aims to make a real difference to the lives of the people in the countries it visits. During this trip, the following causes will be supported: Felix Unite Provenance Camp, a 100%-owned camp with 46 Namibian and 1 South African staff member.

Meals are sourced locally, and the camp has set up a community vegetable garden and supports a local nursery. Hotel A la Mer is 100% Namibian-owned, and all staff are from the local community.

Plastic is recycled, and hot water for showers and heating is generated using solar energy. Brandberg White Lady Lodge is 100% Namibian-owned, and all staff are from Namibia.

They generate 100% of their electricity from solar power and use groundwater to grow their own fruit and vegetables. The lodge contributes to the reintroduction of wildlife in the area and assists with anti-poaching programmes.

Tarentaal Guest Farm is 100% Namibian-owned and all staff are local residents. Tarentaal generates 100% of its electricity from solar power and uses its own cows for meat.

The guest farm is planting “bacon trees” on its grounds, which help to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Terra Africa guesthouse in Windhoek is 100% Namibian-owned and all the staff are local residents.

Glass and plastic are separated on-site for recycling and any cleaning agents used are biodegradable.

The average age on this tour is 38-45, but ages range from 20 to 60+ years. The minimum age for children is 12 years when accompanied by at least one adult. There is no upper age limit, but travellers aged 65+ are required to provide a medical “fitness to travel” certificate, available from your GP.

Guaranteed departure from 4 people/maximum 12 participants.

Language
As the participants on the above trip come from different countries, English will be spoken by the guide during the trip (with the exception of departure dates marked with a *, during which German will be spoken primarily).

The journey is guided by 2 certified guides for optimal knowledge, information and individual attention.

Visa
If you hold Dutch nationality, as of April 2025 you will require a visa for travel to Namibia, in addition to a passport that remains valid for at least 6 months after your return from the trip.

Only if you enter Namibia via Windhoek airport can you apply for a “visa on arrival” at a special counter (take into account longer waiting times), or apply for an e-visa a maximum of 90 days before departure via the following link. https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na/.

There must also be enough blank pages side-by-side in the passport for the required stamps (at least 3). If you hold a nationality other than Dutch, you will need to obtain information from the Namibian Consulate yourself.

AfrikaOnline does not arrange visas. For information, please visit the website of, for example, the visa service www.visumdienst.nl. Should someone not possess a valid visa, passport and/or travel documents during their trip, any consequences will be for their own account.

If you are travelling with children under 18 years of age, you must be in possession of a copy of the International Birth Certificate.

If you are travelling as a single parent or alone with your minor child, you must also be in possession of a consent form from the other parent.

Please inquire with Afrika Online for comprehensive information on this matter. (subject to change)

Taking out travel insurance is compulsory.

It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance.

If the insurance policies are not taken out via AfrikaOnline, we kindly request you to provide the name of the insurer and the policy numbers for both insurances to AfrikaOnline by email as soon as possible and well before your departure.
