One adventurous overland camping safari in an international setting by Namibia. Introduction to Namibia with the following excursions included;
visit to the Quiver Tree Forest visit to the Giants playground Fish River Canyon, guided walk on Dune 45 a visit to Sossusvlei, visit to Swakopmund and the seal colony been Cape Cross,

Programme
Day 1: Windhoek - Keetmanshoop
Departing from Windhoek at 07:00 (from the Arebbusch Travel Lodge). After meeting the group and the guides, depart from Windhoek and drive towards the south of Namibia.
En route to the town of Keetmanshoop, taking a lovely scenic route through the Kalahari Desert. Before driving to the guesthouse, we first visit the Quiver Tree Forest and take a sunset walk in this unique location.
Then drive to the Schuetzenhaus guesthouse in Keetmanshoop. On this first afternoon we spend some time with a briefing about our itinerary.

Day 2: Keetmanshoop – Ais-Ais
This morning a visit to The Giants Playground, a geological phenomenon where large rocks are stacked on top of each other as if a giant has been playing a game of Jenga.
Following our visit to the Giants Playground, depart from Keetmanshoop and drive to the Ai-Ais resort near the Fish River Canyon.
The afternoon is at leisure to take a dip in the heated springwater baths of the Ai-Ais resort.

Day 3 Ais-Ais - Luderitz
Get up on time and drive to the edge of the Fish River Canyon so that, with a bit of luck, we can see a magnificent sunrise.
Afterwards, a walk along the edge of the Fish River Canyon from which there is a magnificent view over this second largest canyon in the world. The Fish River is the longest river in Namibia, with a length of 650km, and the canyon is located along the lower reaches of this river.
After our visit to the Fish River Canyon, we drive to the harbour town of Lüderitz. En route, there is a chance of seeing wild herds of horses, descendants of the horses left behind there by German soldiers during the First World War.
After visiting the lighthouse (1925) at Diaz Point, drive to the guesthouse.

Day 4: Lüderitz - Sesriem
From Luderitz we set off into the abandoned Namibian interior. On the way, a stop is made for a walk near the abandoned mining town of Kolmanskop.
We arrive at the Sesriem camp in the afternoon and have some time to relax in the camp. The starry sky above the desert is wonderfully clear and it is a joy to spot the unique southern constellations, including the famous Southern Cross.

Day 5: Naukluft National Park (Sesriem)
Getting up this morning before sunrise and climbing Dune 45 where we see the sun rise.
Afterwards a picnic breakfast and then a transfer in a 4x4 vehicle to Sossusvlei. Here we take a walk to the famous Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.
Rest of the afternoon to relax in the campervan and enjoy the unique surroundings.

Day 6: Naukluft National Park - Swakopmund
A magnificent drive through the desert-like Namib-Naukluft National Park, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, brings us to Walvis Bay.
We'll stop to look at flamingos (if we're lucky) before we head to the seaside town of Swakopmund.
Information is provided here about the many activities you can participate in the following day, and there is time to explore the centre of Swakopmund.

Day 7: Swakopmund – Palmwag
Depart from Swakopmund after breakfast and drive along the famous Skeleton Coast in the direction of Palmwag.
The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 8: Palmwag - Khorixas
Leave Palmwag after breakfast and drive to the town of Khorixas. There are several historical attractions in the area, including the Petrified Forest.
The Petrified Forest has been designated a monument and consists of prehistoric petrified tree trunks.
In prehistoric times, these tree trunks were washed ashore via the Kunene River. After our visit here, we’ll continue on towards Twyfelfontein. This area was inhabited by the Khoi San tribe 6,000 years ago.
They used the rocks at Twyfelfontein for their shamanic rituals and created more than 2,500 rock paintings.

Day 9: Khorixas – Etosha National Park
An early start takes us to Etosha National Park for a game drive in the late afternoon.
We spend our days visiting watering holes so that you can take some wonderful photos of the various animals.
Sometimes it isn’t possible to stay overnight within the park; in that case, we stay at a local guest farm.

Day 10: Etosha National Park
A full day of game driving in Etosha National Park in search of the Big Five. We’ll stop at the salt pans and at a number of the waterholes along the way.
At the end of the day, back to the Okaukuejo resort.
The evening can be spent by the illuminated waterhole under the starry sky.
Lots of animals come here to drink in the evening, and you can see them up close.

Day 11: Etosha National Park – Waterberg Plateau National Park
We set off from Etosha National Park and go on one last game drive on the way to the gate.
We will then drive to the Waterberg Plateau National Park. Upon arrival, we will go on a hike through the Waterberg Plateau National Park with our own guide.
The afternoon is free for you to enjoy these beautiful surroundings.

Day 12: Waterberg Plateau National Park - Windhoek
After breakfast, depart from the Waterberg Plateau National Park and drive towards Windhoek.
On the way, we’ll stop off to visit a craft market where you can buy lovely African souvenirs. In the afternoon, there’ll be a short walking tour of Windhoek.
The trip ends at the Arebbusch Travellers Lodge at the end of the day.

For Namibia, a visa has been required since 1 April 2025, plus a passport that is valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in Namibia. Namibia also requires at least 3 blank pages in the passport for the necessary stamps.

Taking out travel insurance is mandatory. It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance.

Participation
Vanaf 8 jaar (afhankelijk van de reis), geen maximum leeftijd. Wel moet er voor elke kind onder de 16 jaar tenminste 1 volwassenen meereizen. Voor reizigers boven de 65 jaar wordt gevraagd een gezondheidsverklaring op de vragen bij de huisarts.
During the trip, walks will be undertaken that require a certain level of stamina. The walks are rated as easy to moderate and are optional at all times.
Bij alle groepssafari’s is deelname gevraagd in gezamenlijke taken zoals opzetten van het kamp etc.
Overnight stays
Lodges en camps: 11 overnachtingen in lodges of camps in een tweepersoonskamer met een privé badkamer.
Meals:
During the trip, good and healthy meals will be prepared using predominantly local products. To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and occasionally a full English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.
Lunch will mostly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (picnic style). Dinner will be the most elaborate with regular BBQs, stir-fries and the typically South African Potjiekos (an all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.
If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.
Coffee and tea will also be served during dinner. Other drinks are not included and must be purchased separately.

Luggage
Travel bag (due to space in the car, it is only possible to bring luggage in a travel bag or backpack) with a maximum of 20 kg p.p.
For daytime car trips, it's easy to have a small backpack for usual items like sunscreen, water bottles, sunglasses, etc. Bring your own (warm) sleeping bag and a small pillow.
