Programme
Day 1: Windhoek
At 2:00 PM, an introductory meeting will be held at the Mercure Hotel Windhoek with the guide and the other travellers to discuss the arrangements for the trip.
Following this, a city tour of Windhoek with a visit to a local museum and church.
The city tour concludes at the well-known “Joe's Beerhouse” restaurant where dinner can be enjoyed (at your own expense, not included in the tour price).
Overnight stay in the Mercure Hotel Windhoek in a standard double room.

Day 2: Windhoek – Namib Rand Nature Reserve
After breakfast, depart from Windhoek and drive to the Namib Rand Nature Reserve in the heart of the Namib Desert with its vast plains and rocky mountain ranges.
The next two days will be spent with walks and various game drives.

Day 3: Namib Rand Nature Reserve
Full day in the Nature Reserve In the morning, an eco-walk with an experienced guide who will explain the flora and fauna of the desert.
During the walk, we will look for animals, tracks of mammals and reptiles, and learn about the adaptations of animals and plants for surviving in the desert.
After the walk back to the lodge to relax and have lunch.
After lunch, a desert game drive through the nature reserve.
In the afternoon, a traditional sundowner (enjoying a drink during sunset) followed by driving back to the lodge in the dark, keeping an eye out along the way for animals that only emerge at night.

Day 4: Namib Rand Nature Reserve - Sesriem
Early departure from the Kronenhof Lodge and drive to Sesriem Canyon and the red dunes of Sossusvlei.
The Sesriem Canyon is explored on foot, followed by a 4x4 transfer into the heart of the dune area to the well-known Sossusvlei dune, Dune 45.
Time to climb the dunes and enjoy the brilliant view.
At the end of the day, drive to Bushman’s Desert Camp.

Day 5: Sesriem - Swakopmund
Leave the Bushman’s Desert Camp and drive through the Namib Naukluft Park towards the coast.
En route, a stop will be made at the Kuiseb Canyon, where you will most likely see the Welwitschia Mirabilis plant, a millions of years old plant, a living fossil, which occurs only in the coastal region of Namibia and Angola and is called “tweeblaarkanniedood” in Afrikaans.
The plant can live to be 500 to 600 years old, and there are even specimens said to be 2000 years old.
Afterwards, a visit to the Walvis Bay lagoon where flamingos can usually be seen.
Continue to the town of Swakopmund, where the rest of the afternoon will be at your leisure to explore the town on foot or to partake in one of the many activities on offer.

Day 6: Swakopmund
Full day at your own leisure to explore Swakopmund and its surroundings, or to relax or take excursions or activities.

Day 7: Swakopmund – Skeleton Coast – Spitzkoppe
Departure from Swakopmund after breakfast and drive north towards the Skeleton Coast.
Afterwards, depart from the coast and head inland to Namibia, driving to the famous Spitzkoppe, a granite rock over 120 million years old, approximately 1728 metres above sea level.
The night is spent here at the foot of the mountain.

Day 8: Spitzkoppe – Brandberg
This morning, time to climb the Spitzkoppe.
Afterwards, depart for the Brandberg Nature Reserve where, with a bit of luck, the rare desert elephant can be spotted.
En route, a stop will be made to visit a local Himba tribe.
In the afternoon, a hike to the famous Brandberg White Lady rock paintings.

Day 9: Brandberg – Etosha National Park
Depart from the Brandberg and drive to the world-famous Etosha National Park.
The next two nights will be spent in this magnificent wild park with game drives and viewing the wildlife that comes to drink at the many waterholes.

Day 10: Etosha National Park
Full-day game drive in Etosha National Park.
A stop is made at the waterhole of the Okaukuejo rest camp where you can simply sit and watch the animals come to drink for about 2 hours.

En route, a visit will be made to the local market in Tsumeb and Otjiwarongo for the last souvenirs, and a stop will be made at a nice spot along the way for lunch.
Arrival in Windhoek at the end of the afternoon / beginning of the evening.

This price is based on two travelers. For solo travelers, accommodation during the safari is included in the price (without additional costs) or an additional fee of €898 per person and €966 per person for a single tent/room during the trip.
Optional extras:
- Additional overnight stay at the Mercure hotel Windhoek at the beginning/end of the trip: €75 (2026) and €75 per person (2027) per night in a double room based on two people per room including breakfast.
- Supplement for a single room €30 per person per night (2026 and 2027).
- Arrival and/or departure transfer from Windhoek airport to the Mercure hotel is optional and can be booked for €75 (2026) and €61 (2027) per person single journey.

Our comfort safaris are run in small groups to offer the most flexible and best possible itinerary.
Small groups mean more time for the traveller, shorter waiting times and a cosy, personal atmosphere during the trip.
The average age on this tour is between 38-50 years old, but ages range from 20 to 65+ years old.
Minimum age for children is 12 years provided they are accompanied by at least 1 adult, there is no upper age limit, but travellers aged 65+ are asked to complete a self-signed fitness declaration.

Language
Since the participants on the above trip come from different countries, English will be spoken by the guide during the trip.
The trip is accompanied by two certified guides for optimal knowledge, information, and individual attention.
Visa
If you hold a Dutch passport, you will need a visa for travel to Namibia from April 1, 2025, plus a passport that is valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in the country.
The visa for Namibia can be applied for online on the Namibian government's website (information in English). https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na/holidayvisa-services.
Please also ensure there are enough blank pages in your passport for the necessary stamps. If you hold a nationality other than Dutch, please contact the Consulate of the relevant country.
AfricaOnline does not provide visas. For more information about passports and visas, please visit the website of the www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl. Should you not have a valid passport and/or travel documents during the trip, any resulting consequences will be at your own expense.
If you are traveling to Namibia with children under 18, you may need to have a copy of the International Certificate of Birth.
If you are travelling as a single parent or simply alone with a minor child, you must also be in possession of a consent form from the other parent or be able to show a document stating that you have custody. (subject to change).

Taking out travel insurance is mandatory. It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance.

Participation
From 7 years old, no maximum age. However, for every child under 18, at least one adult must travel along.
During the trip, walks will be undertaken that require a certain level of stamina. The walks are rated as easy to moderate and are optional at all times.
For all camping trips, participation is requested in setting up the tented camp, preparing meals, and of course, helping with the washing up. Team spirit is part of the fun of travelling in a group.

Meals:
During the trip, good and healthy meals are prepared using mostly local produce.
Meals will mostly be prepared by the lodge/accommodation where you are staying.

This trip includes 10x breakfast, 9x lunch and 7x dinner in the travel fee.

Luggage
Due to the space in the car, the luggage must be carried in a suitcase or backpack with a maximum weight of 20 kg per person.
In addition, you may bring a small, separate backpack or handy bag for your personal belongings. Unfortunately, a (hard) suitcase cannot be brought on board.
