Hello Leony

This weekend we've had to reacquaint ourselves with home life, and unfortunately, it was straight back to work on Monday.

We've had such a wonderful time over the past 4 weeks! Even though it felt very long at the end (we're not used to being away for so long), we also needed the time to see and discover everything. With a total of 6000km on the clock, that's not surprising. Beautiful wide-open plains, amazing nature and of course, lots of beautiful animals.

You've organised it brilliantly! Lots of hidden gems, and each overnight stay was a new (positive) surprise. From the lovely, small-scale accommodation in Cape Town, the modern apartment in Stellenbosch (which was upgraded), the cottages in Springbok, the Roadhouse (I'm mad about old cars), Desert Homestead and Desert Breeze, Vingerklip (where we did wonder what we'd find after a long stretch on gravel) to the really cool ‘houseboat on the water’ in Divundu, and of course the Victoria Falls Hotel. It got quite cold at night in Maun/Okavango, but it was nice to finish with luxury in Welgevonden.

The rental car was also superb. We had one flat tyre and were able to get it changed in Swakopmund (for free). It was nice to have so much space when you have to pack and unpack frequently.

Driving there was a bit of a struggle at times, having to unpack and pack our suitcases in and out of the car repeatedly, but we knew that would be the case beforehand. We often looked at each other when we walked into places, laughing that we would never have found them ourselves.

Thank you!!

Greetings Gabrielle and Ralf
