Kenya bans the use of plastic bags.

In their efforts to protect the environment, the Kenyan government has begun enforcing legislation from February to ban the use of all plastic bags across and within the country.

Following the implementation of the ban on plastic materials, we will provide further clarification on the scope of the ban:

• All plastic carrier bags are banned without exception, and this includes “Duty Free” plastic bags which must be left at the point of entry.
Certain exemptions have been granted to manufacturers of certain plastics, e.g. primary packaging in direct contact with the product.
