Programme
Day 1: Johannesburg - Kruger National Park
Departing Johannesburg at 08:00 (Garden Court Hotel OR Tambo) and driving towards the Mpumalanga province and Kruger National Park.
Arrive in the afternoon and after checking in, a briefing on the journey by the guide.

Day 2: Kruger National Park
This morning, get up on time and after breakfast, depart for a full day of game driving in the Kruger National Park in a special, open 4x4 safari vehicle.

Day 3: Kruger National Park (Panorama Route)
This morning, there's an opportunity to do a morning game walk (not included in the holiday package).
Then depart for the drive along the famous Panorama Route, one of South Africa's most beautiful routes.
A visit will be made to Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon including God's Window and the Three Rondavels.

Day 4: Kruger National Park – Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary (eSwatini)
After breakfast, depart from Nkambeni Tented Lodge and game drive through Kruger Park to the southern exit of Kruger Park.
Then drive towards the Jeppe’s Reef border with the Kingdom of Eswatini.
En route to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, there will be a stop at a local market where nice souvenirs can be purchased.
The afternoon is free to spend at your leisure in Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary.
Because there are no dangerous animals here, you can go for walks, mountain bike tours or horse riding.

Day 5: Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary
After breakfast, a nature walk with a guide through the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary via the Nature Trail route.
After the walk, the rest of the day is free to relax at the camp or do optional activities in the park.

After breakfast, depart from Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary and drive south towards the Golela border and the warm Indian Ocean coast and the town of St. Lucia.
Arriving in the afternoon and time to relax.

Day 7: St Lucia (Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Game Reserve)
After an early breakfast, depart from St. Lucia and drive to the nearby Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve for a game drive.
The Hluhluwe–Umfolozi Game Reserve is the only State-owned Big Five park located in KwaZulu-Natal.
The park has the world's largest population of white rhinos.
After visiting Hluhluwe–Umfolozi Park, we returned to St Lucia and had time to relax.
In the afternoon, a sunset boat cruise on Lake St. Lucia in search of flamingos and hippos.

Day 8: St Lucia - uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park
After breakfast, depart from St. Lucia and drive towards the Drakensberg Mountains. The Drakensberg Mountains are South Africa's highest mountain range, with peaks reaching up to 3000 metres. Hiking is the most popular activity here, and this afternoon there will be a beautiful walk with a guide.
On the way, a stop is made in Durban for a walk on the promenade.
After the walk, depart from Durban and drive via Pietermaritzburg to the village of Howick, where a stop will be made for a short walk and a visit to the waterfalls.
After visiting Howick, we drive to the Drakensberg Mountains, with a stop en route at the “Capture Site”, the place where police stopped a car with a wanted Nelson Mandela inside in 1962.
From that day until his release 27 years later, Nelson Mandela was a prisoner of the State.
Nowadays, this place is a memorial site with a beautiful monument. Arrive in the afternoon and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 9: UKhahlamba Drakensberg Park
Full day in the Drakensberg. Today will involve a hike through the Drakensberg accompanied by a guide, with a visit to the rock paintings at Battle Cave.
After the walk, return to Monks Cowl Resort and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 10: UKhahlamba Drakensberg Park – Lesotho (Malealea)
Depart from Monks Cowl resort and drive via a scenic route along the Drakensberg Mountains and through “The Golden Gate” to the Maseru Bridge border with Lesotho, a landlocked mountain kingdom enclosed by South Africa.
Arrival at the lodge in Lesotho in the afternoon and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 11: Lesotho (Malealea)
This morning there is an opportunity to go for a walk to a waterfall and to Bushman rock paintings.
In the afternoon, there is an optional pony trek or a visit to a local village (must be booked at the time of booking the trip) to explore the surrounding landscape of Malealea Lodge with the local transport, the Basotho pony.

Depart from the “Kingdom in the Skies” and drive to the Great Karoo, a semi-desert region known primarily for agriculture and livestock farming.
Graaff Reinet is a historic town, situated after Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Swellendam as the 3rd oldest town in South Africa.

Day 13: Graaff Reinet - Addo - Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth)
Early breakfast and a sunrise drive in the nearby Valley of Desolation.
Next, depart from Graaff Reinet and drive to Addo Elephant National Park, the only park in the world with the ‘Big Seven“: elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, whale and great white shark.
In the afternoon, a game drive in Addo National Park.
After the game drive, drive to Gqeberha and the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

Participation
Vanaf 9 jaar geen maximum leeftijd. Wel moet er voor elke kind onder de 18 jaar tenminste 1 volwassenen meereizen.
Voor reizigers boven de 65 jaar wordt soms gevraagd een gezondheidsverklaring op te vragen bij de huisarts. Voor kinderen jonger dan 9 jaar is beschikbaarheid op aanvraag (minimum leeftijd 6 jaar).

De wandelingen worden ingeschaald als eenvoudig tot middenklasse wandelingen en zijn ten alle tijden optioneel. Bij alle reizen is deelname gevraagd in kookdiensten.

During the trip, good and healthy meals will be prepared using predominantly local products. To give you an idea of what the meals will be like: breakfast will consist of cornflakes with milk, toast with jam, and occasionally a full English breakfast with eggs and bacon, fruit juice, coffee, and tea.
Lunch will mostly consist of cheese, cold cuts, salads and bread (picnic style). Dinner will be the most elaborate with regular BBQs, stir-fries and the typically South African Potjiekos (an all-in-one pot dish, delicious!!!!) prepared over the campfire.
If there are special dietary requirements (due to vegetarian preference and/or allergies), please state them when booking the trip so that they can be taken into account in advance.
Tijdens het diner wordt ook koffie en thee geschonken. Overige dranken zijn exclusief en moeten zelf worden ingekocht. Tijdens deze reis zijn 13x ontbijt en 11x diner inbegrepen.

Luggage
