Important information: Tanzania visa

With immediate effect (15-08-2019), and without warning, Kilimanjaro Airport has changed the way visas on arrival are handled. Previously, you could obtain a visa on arrival by waiting in a small queue, or obtain it online.

We strongly recommend that all travellers now apply for an e-visa online in advance at www.immigration.go.tz for all journeys, effective immediately.
Please note that the online process requires a lot of information. However, once completed, the visas will be issued within a few days.

If customers do NOT have an e-visa, they must follow these steps upon arrival:

Obtaining a government control number
• Queue to pay this at the bank
Back in the queue to get the visa
• Then wait at immigration to check the visa

This process can take up to two hours for customers to get through and is certainly not the best way to start a holiday.
Unfortunately, the Tanzanian government did not warn us at all that the system was changing.

For customers who are unable to obtain a visa on arrival, we will try our best to help speed up the process. We will also contact you directly if customers are arriving soon.
