The project in Ziwa aims to reintroduce the endangered giant back into Uganda after they completely disappeared in the 1970s.<\/p>\n<p>A walk of approximately 1 hour will be taken in search of the southern white rhino with a guide, and when found, some time can be spent with the rhinos.<\/p>\n<p>After visiting the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, drive towards Murchison Falls National Park. After the game drive of approx. 4-5 hours, return to the lodge for a lunch break. With an experienced ranger, we searched for the chimpanzees through the tropical rainforest, a unique experience.<\/p>\n<p>When the chimpanzees are found, there is an hour to spend with the chimpanzees and see them in their natural environment. Uganda and the Kibale Forest are known for the primate colonies found there, with a total of 13 different primate species, of which the chimpanzee is the most \u201cpopular\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Please remember that a certain level of fitness is required and that water and a packed lunch must be brought from the lodge. It is recommended to bring waterproof walking shoes, a hat, a light rain jacket, a long-sleeved t-shirt, long trousers and insect repellent roll or spray, and of course binoculars and a camera with sufficient batteries and memory.<\/p>\n<p>After the chimpanzee meeting, return to the lodge. Early start and a hearty breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arriving at the park entrance, a brief briefing on the \u201cdo's and don'ts\u201d during the trek will follow. Of course, the mountain gorillas are the main attraction, but during the trek, there is a high chance of spotting other primate and monkey species because chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys also inhabit this area.<\/p>\n<p>During the trek, as well as a guide, porters are available for hire to help carry your luggage and, if necessary, lend a hand with climbing the mountains.<\/p>\n<p>The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in southwest Uganda, on the border with Virunga National Park in Congo.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 300 mountain gorillas live in the park. The mountain gorillas consist of several families, of which only a few may be visited by tourists.<\/p>\n<p>This area is one of the best destinations in the world to see endangered mountain gorillas in the wild.<\/p>\n<p>An encounter with a gorilla family is indescribable, moving, unforgettable, and a \u201donce in a lifetime\u201d opportunity. Interesting is a visit to \u201dPunishment Island\u201d on Lake Bunyonyi.
